Making the most out of every day

With the news from Hollywood that both Farrah Fawcett Major and Michael Jackson died overnight, it makes me grateful that my own medical problems have been almost fixed, and that, hopefully, I get to live many more adventurous years.
Michael Jackson lived a full-on life, and to have his heart give out at age 50 is a warning sign to us all to take time to stop, and smell the roses.
We only get one life and we need to live it to the fullest we can, seize every advantage and run with it, and be grateful for the wonderful experiences many of us get to enjoy. If you have food, shelter, good health, and people who love you, you are indeed one of the blessed on this earth.
And if you live, like I do, in a relatively peaceful country, you are doubly blessed.

So my advice for the day: treat yourself well, give everyone around you an extra smile, let family and friends know you appreciate having them in your life.

And my philosophical thought for the day – From Joan Baez:

You don’t get to chose how you’re going to die.
Or when.
You can only decide how you’re going to live.
