New Year Resolution

January 6, 2009
tags:

It’s the time of year when we all make resolutions to do things better than last year, to change things that we didn’t like about our previous year, or to achieve more than we did last year. But basically, most of it is past history and we shouldn’t waste time worrying about it. It’s time to move on.

I found a great Japanese saying that sums it all up-  ‘ Let the past drift away with the water.”

Because for most of us, resolutions drift away pretty fast anyway.

Diets only last for the first month. Exercise regimes become sparser.

The new year and all it brings consumes us, and eats up all our time.

So while I am madly trying to edit manuscripts for contests, and hopefully for publishers and agents, I’ll just be sharing short words of wisdom from people who know a lot more about living life than I do-

Oh, hang on, what am I saying? Everyone in the world knows more than me! He He!

I love this quote from Helen Keller –

When one door of happiness closes, another opens;

but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

Love to everyone

May 2009 be very, very kind to you all,

Suzi Love
