Still Twittering about and not writing enough

January 16, 2009

Well what can you expect from me ????
I get distracted easily!

With everything going on in the financial world in general, and the publishing world specifically, it’s hard to concentrate on my own small slice of the realm.

There are blogs to be read, views to be expressed, fights to take sides on, oh, well…oops!
Perhaps, I should stay out of the fights, as I tend to wade in with both feet…only when I get really stirred.

There is the legal battle to be fought between Borders and Elora’s Cave, plus plenty of mudslinging between authors and publishers. Luckily for all e-published authors, there are sincere and level headed e-publishers out there, who are above public brawling. Although, one cannot help but feel for any author who’s been misled, or cheated in any way.

There’s also going to be a dispute between a writers group of America and many authors whose entries were excluded from a contest, over what they feel was an unfair late addition to the contest rules. A petition has been started to protest this, one I think many, many people will sign.

But despite all the grim news in the publishing world, it’s been wonderful to hear about several new contracts for books for Historical Romance writers, as perhaps one day it will also be …. Moi!!!
Oh, perchance to dream!

So today’s quote is from Ann Landers about…. Hope.

Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and repeat to yourself, the most comforting words of all:

This, too, shall pass.
